Three political parties join forces to save 1,700 cattle on Elbeik carriage

Three political parties, the Party for the Animals of Cyprus, the Partito Animalista Italiano and the Greek Party for the Animals sent a joint letter to the President and Vice President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and Frans Timmermans, the EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou, and and PM and Minister for the Environment of Italy, Mario Draghi and Roberto Cingolani.

They call the authorities to protect the “Five Freedoms” of the cattle on the “Elbeik”, who are experiencing an untold tragedy, suffering from fear, anxiety, hunger, thirst and disease in an overcrowded, dirty, noisy and overheated environment.

They urge recipients to appoint a team of veterinarians to assess the animal health and care for the sick animals.
 

Finally, they call for the creation of a shelter for these animals, so that they can finally live as they deserve. “It's the least we can do after months of suffering. Let us save the animals of Elbeik, choosing the solution of life", underline the leaders of the three parties, Kyriakos Kyriakos, Cristiano Ceriello and Christina Papi.
